I apologize. I have removed the package links for v17, v18, and v19. I have fixed this issue for the future and I will release v20 in a week. I will include virus scans with every new release. False positives will still register with some scanners due to the injector program. v10 through v16 are safe.

The installation document that comes with every package tells you everything you need to know to install RSE. Errors like that are likely due to insufficient hardware, operating system, or lacking a redist like dot net 3.5 or Direct X 9.

I actually found a fix :D I can't find the video now for some reason, but it had to do with registry. Its working now! Just curious but the bots ping is always 999 and they move real jittery. Im using v16 with the v20b10 patch

the legs moving issue has been partially fixed. they will move their legs as long as no bot is shooting. when a bot needs to shoot, a command is set off to allow for bot accuracy but this command also stops their legs from moving and it is a universal command. (cannot be applied to each bot individually). this has been improved for the final release of v20 which will be out soon.

I just started work on a separate project involving an animation system built from the ground up but it will take several months to implement.

it is distracting in a way and creates a feeling that you are not playing with real players and that they are bots, moving legs would add some kind of realism to it. Also why is does the killcam is so jittery?

both of these issues have been fixed in v21. the jittering in the killcam came from a command that, when enabled, allowed bots to move their legs, but would also move their looking position as well. as a result, the jittering came from their aim constantly being realigned to the correct position. this command is no longer needed so you won't see the jittering anymore.

the injector might have crashed because the loading screen didn't give enough time for the program to initiate properly. this could happen on slow computers. i updated the batch launcher in v21 extending the loading time so that it won't crash on slower computers. let me know if this issue still happens.

thanks for the update.. now the injector is working...im using v21. but i noticed, during the bots runs its like there heads sometimes not aligned with there body.. or sometimes there body are running and there heads are following them..or during prone some of them their bodies buried under ground and there heads are the only thing showing..
but its ok the important thing is IT IS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE!..

Amazing mod! A blast to play and the bots are amazing! So happy to see you developing this and look forward to progression. I can't believe how good these bots are, you really must have done a lot of work building these. Its great to see how well they work considering this wasn't even apart of the original game. Its a fun and great experience..thank you for sharing! I am using v20 of RSE and joining quick match or private the bots spawn automatically and off we go..brilliant.

there is a waypoint file ready for nuketown but i currently have no way of loading nuketown with the client that comes with the RSE package. I'll look into this further and try to get nuketown working.

I've encountered the same error before. try this .. and it works for me
after you download the file (i have v21) and download also all the DLC maps

1ST STEP:
inside RSE v21 folder find the folder with a name EXTRAS inside there is another folder name IWD Version click it you will find 2 files (1- read me
and
2- z_RSE_v21.iwd)
copy z_RSE_v21.iwd and paste it in your main folder

C:\Program Files\Activision\Modern Warfare 2\MAIN

2ND STEP:
create a folder (just a folder) inside
C:\Program Files\Activision\Modern Warfare 2
name it mods

after that re lunch the game.. there should be bots re spawning after couple of sec..

2nd: how can i completely change the language that bots are using when typing a message?? i tried to change ALL the message from the talk.gsc but bot are still using English language

3rd: why in TDM game mode i only have 16 players max (including me) and in FFA I only have 8max (including me) I tried to change the setting on the config.gsc to 18 and even 20 but I still have 18 or less than bots.

and the 4th:
with the v22 the private match is no longer ranked?? what will happened to the weapons/perks etc that can be only unlock by obtaining ranks.

1. yes it works offline like in v21

2. language of the bot talking cannot be changed unless you physically change what the bots say in each dialogue piece.

3. you have to create a new mod file after you make changes to the config.gsc file. i provided instructions on how to do this in the package.

4. you can rank up in matchmaking now. you can press F3 on your keyboard while searching for a matchmaking match to start the match. for v23 I provide the file needed to make private match ranked in the extras folder. you can read the FAQ document to learn how to install it.

source code folder is for making changes if you want to. the main mod file is now compressed in .iwd format in the main folder in the client files folder. Read the instructions I provide in the package for further clarification.

Well, first, you need to download versions 23, 21, and optionally 20. Then install version 21 as normal. Then take the contents of the source code folder for version 23 and install them inside version 21's source folder (probably best to delete the contents of that folder before installing the files). Then, optionally, take the bat file for version 20 and replace version 21's bat with that. Then, with the iw4m2p.exe, set the compatibility mode to Windows 8 for now. Then launch the bat file. The program may crash several times, but, when a window that says "the program has stopped working", with the option to either debug or close the program, move that window aside and there should be a window that says "do you want to play in safe mode" (or something to that effect). Click on "No" and the game will run. Though the desktop mouse may show instead of the game's mouse. Just alt-tab and the games mouse should show up. With the compatibility mode mention earlier, just experiment with various settings to see which brings up the proper dialogue most frequently. Also, bear in mind that I am using this mod on the Steam version of the game, so, mileage may vary.

Awesome mod, but I find it a bit unchallenging that the bots don't hunt down nuke-campers. It is so easy to get a nuke by just camping (especially with a tube).

Have you considered making some bots randomly hunt down those nasty nuke campers (and perhaps make them camp for a nuke too). Like with a grenade or something.

I have one problem with rse bots on mw2. When I try to enable the console, I am clicking ~ and then "unknown cmd" pops up. Because of this I cant change difficulty and number of bots. Is there a way to fix this?

As far as I know, there is no way to change their names. Kind of engine limitation, that's what on Pezbots their saying. But this is RSE, Im not sure.

Awesome bot mod. It seems to be working fine however, in your installation readme, it doesn't specify where the config.gsc file actually needs to be (directory). I'm using RSE v23. While in the menu portion of the game, when I hit F4 to edit the configurations, it only prompts map/game options, not amount of bots/difficulty etc.

I think I might know how to get this to work on Windows 8. There is a new feature in windows 8 called "ASLR" that makes hacks for games alot harder. If that feature were to be disabled, then the mod might work.

V24 would be very appreciated. Bots are good but their aim is just pain even on easy difficulty. For example on map Wasteland they score headshots from very far away without scope. Also would it be possible to make bots making foot noises?

plus when you shoot, especially when you are good in aiming......they just turn into Ghostfreak then your bullets just went through them.....rendering them intangible.....in some cases. also the out-of-place floating guns

I have some sort of problem.When I start iw4mphost after some seconds in the game some sort of error appeared "Could not load image preview_mp_compact"!

Amazing MOD man!! I love playing with my bros with bots as cannon fodder. But one question, can i create a PRIVATE MATCH and have people connect through LAN using my own custom settings?

Or must we always search a game mode together and connect from there?? We wish to pick our sides and adjust the number of bots on each sides while playing LAN together if possible.

My bad, I found out that all I had to do was type the IP address on the console. You have a great mod here man! By the way, when bots kill using their knives, the killcam doesnt show the animation, it isnt a big deal at all, just throwing it out there man!

And quick question; do bots attempt to destroy AC130, choppers and whatnots when its raining hell upon them?? I havent notice that they do.

And the option to ADD MORE bots on one side (e.g Spetsnaz has 15 bots and SAS has only 3 bots)! And if possible, increase the overall number of bots (maximum is 9 on each side atm as youre well awaare) or would that ruin bots waypoints or something??

My brother is always the host in this game and he adds God level bots to his side and frankly its impossible for me and my friends to win. Fantastic mod! I absolutely love this. But one quick question. It is possible to rename the bots without using a tool. I ask you this because I once downloaded a tool that was supposed to rename bots, but I got a nasty backdoor trojan and I had to wipe my computer. I would like to avoid that at all costs. How do I change the bot difficulty? I followed the instructions and it does not work, the instructions where not that clear anyway, but I have tried everything and I cannot get the config.gsc file to work, there are no clear, working instructions that allow me to use the file to change the difficulty, and this is really annoying, because the bots are too hard. What do I do?

Is there any timer before i can kill the bots? Cuz sometimes it feels like i shoot on them but i dont hit them. But brother feels the same. Iam 99% sure i really hit them. Please answer

The game installs fine, no errors when load up. Install RSE 27 and when I start the .bat to start some bot games, I get an error during startup "Couldn't load image 'shadow'". What gives?

I had a similar issue with other bot mods but is there a way to fix error: AimTarget_GetTagPos: Cannot find tag [j_helmet] on entity? Its very frustrating. Thanks.

V27 worked great for the longest time. I'm starting to get lag (160+) ping also up and down arrows don't open the bot menu any more, only works using the 5 key somewhat. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Ok, so I have a decently high end laptop running Windows 8.1 (GTX 950, i7, Intel Graphics 5600, 8gb ram) and I am having a lot of trouble with RSE v33 for MW2, where, if i click on multiple menus, the game gets more and more laggy, i'm talking 10 Frames. When in games... It's just a nightmare. So i was wondering... Is this even compatible with Windows 8.1, cuz I played this on a computer twice, if not more, as bad, with 60FPS. Any response and/or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I really like this mod, but there is one issue for me. The bots don't acually walk/run around, they simply speed walk to their (waypoints)? They keep walking really fast, then stopping, then walk again in a wierd stop and go. Is there any way to fix this?

Hey is there a way you can give instructions for how to install rse for PS3's with CFW? I don't wanna do it using the backup utility because I don't want to risk losing any data/saves. If its possible to just move the files to the directories they need to be through a file manager on the PS3 I would prefer that.

Would I be correct in assuming that the files in the folder titled "RSE_Bots_V33_PS3", the two ".dat" files need to go into the folder "dev_hdd0/0000001/exdata"? If it can be done this way plz respond.

Before installing RSE, install the components in the "Redist" folder if you haven't already.

To install this mod, it is very easy. Simply copy the entire contents of the "Client Files" folder to your root directory of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, merging folders as needed.You can configure your in-game name by editing the "alterIWnet.ini" file in your root directory for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

This mod is awsome i really enjoy that.But i really hope i can change the FOV. 65 FOV's view is just too huge i cant play for a long time.I hope i can change FOV forever.No just die and then be reset.Im tired about.The bind way i try.But there always have some UNKNOWN CMD XXX show up.And that was not a way out,too.
so i hope you can make something let us to change the FOV.OH the MW2 FOV Changer cant work in your mod,too.

Hey. The way you give us to play the mod works perfekt. But i want to play the mod with the "IW4x" Client. I copy the mod .iwd in the mode folder of the client and loade with the console. If want to Run a Game it says "file som/name mismatch". I dount know waht i am doing wrong or is the mod not compatibel ?
